Welcome to Prince Edward Island

On Tuesday, we flew into Prince Edward Island. Even though it doesn’t look very far on the map, it took us hours to fly across Canada! Canada is a VERY BIG country! Do you know which is bigger, Canada or Australia? We left Vancouver late on Monday night travelled all through the night while you were all tucked up in bed and arrived in PEI by Tuesday morning.
PEI is also very beautiful! The gorgeous colours of fall make the island look like everything is painted with a big paint brush.
PEI reminds me of some places in Australia that also has deep red soil due to having lots of iron in the soil.
Have you heard of the classic tale of fiction, 'Anne of Green Gables'? Although the place in the story was fictitious and made up by the author Lucy Maud Montgomery, she used the house in this picture to inspire her story. It was a house she used to play in when she was a little girl.

Alberta

Hi 3/4's! Since I last saw you all, I've been exploring Canada with my two cousins, Liz and Davina. We went to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is located in Alberta's Rockies and the mountains are breathtakingly beautiful!
We went to Lake Louise which has the highest elevation in Alberta. Why do you think it was so cold and snowing?
The Canadian Rocky Mountains are home to both grizzly and black bears. You can run into a bear anywhere here, be it on a busy trail close to town or in the remote backcountry. Bears generally prefer to avoid people. However, encounters between bears and people do occur.
